In red half calf, with a decorative title leaf by John Bell, and numerous in-text illustrations by various British artists and engravers, including John Bell, Frank Stone and other members of The Etching Club. A carefully planned edition of which Corney was delighted to edit, containing both the revised edition of the memoir and an ode to his memory published in 1749. Printed from copper blocks, the engraved illustrations beuatifully bring out the poet's vision of nature and our place within it. In red half calf. Externally, mostly smart, with slight rubbing to the joints, edges and extremities. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Marble end papers are bright and clean.
