Dunedin bookseller's ticket on front endpaper, "H. H. Driver".; Third edition. xiv, 800, [2 (blank)] pages + colour frontispiece + 2 plates + folding colour map. Numerous in-text illustrations. Rebound in half-green morocco (faded to brown on spine). Page dimensions: 266 x 177mm. Spine with five raised bands and six gilt panels. Gilt title and date "1897" on spine. Gilt double rule to boards. Marbled endpapers. All page edges gilt.
