Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Near Fine. Limited First Edition. Gift quality hardcover in red leather covered boards with silver titles on cover & spine. This is an un-numbered limited edition of one thousand copies. Board tips and spine ends sharp, one micro poke through frt gutter approx 2" up from foot the size of a writing pen tip along with an almost 1" tear in dust jacket that sits on top of this area, from, perhaps, a fingernail. No names, tears or soil within the 147pp text. Unclipped original dust wrapper is faintly sunned on backstrip and besides the now closed tear at gutter (clear cello tape behind it on the jacket), one micro soil dot at head of backstrip is all that keeps this book from being new. J. Blan van Urk (1902-1998) has written with wit and spice, this book for children and curious adults: Little Charlie The Fox. He reveals characteristics of an attractive, precocious animal who exhibits a cynical attitude toward life and people, yet he remains curious, interested and playful. All this lends itself to droll, satirical treatment. With broad strokes the author has developed a captivating and entertaining story. Little Charlie the fox is one of four cubs born to Mamma & Pappa fox. In this tale, Pappa Fox teaches Charlie and his siblings about foxhunting in a light-hearted, yet factual manner. Charlie and his brothers play various games with zest and humor. Behind his antics is much reality. for in foxhunting, he is the superstar. This book is a fictional story with many true facts to teach the unknowing adult and child of his wiley ways and is one of the best of it's kind, perhaps the only one of its kind and comes highly recommended from us here at HORSE BOOKS PLUS.…
