Los dibujos presentan propuestas absurdas y paisajes urbanos ficticios en mezclas eclécticas de mausoleos antiguos, edificios industriales, utopías neoclásicas y torres constructivistas. Algunos de ellos presentan una metrópolis moderna opresiva y alienante, reflejo de la experiencia de vivir bajo un régimen totalitario, y en otras ocasiones elementos extraños, cerebrales y humanos, en estratos de precedentes históricos, desde Piranesi a Le Corbusier, que continúan siendo de una complejidad y una belleza impresionantes. Este libro presenta el trabajo conjunto de ambos arquitectos y, junto con la introducción de Lois E. Nesbitt, incluye un prefacio de Ronald Feldman y un ensayo de Aleksandr Mergold. Tanto Aleksandr Brodski como Ilya Utkin nacieron en 1955, en Moscú. Ambos obtuvieron el título de arquitecto por el Instituto de Arquitectura de Moscú en 1978. Hace tiempo dejaron atrás su aventura conjunta para perseguir sus intereses por separado, realizando trabajos de construcción, diseño de interiores y escenografías, fotografía y enseñanza.
