Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book details the results of a 27-month study conducted on 18 beach profile lines stretching along the coast of Virginia. The author meticulously documents the processes that affect beach behavior and morphological changes, including the influences of tidal range, wave climate, and winds. The significance of storms is highlighted, along with their varying impacts on each survey location. The author's meticulous attention to local beach usage patterns sheds light on the potential role of cultural factors in beach behavior. By comparing long- and short-term wave and beach conditions, this book provides a comprehensive overview of beach changes in the study area. The detailed analysis of beach trends in both natural and developed areas offers valuable insights for coastal zone planners and environmental managers.
