Herself the wife of an Arkansas country doctor, she collected many such books, and (typical of her) left inside this copy a penny postcard dated 1910 from a doctor's brother, advising him he "need not come," because "Esta's fever is getting along nicely." Postcard will be included with this sale. A fun collectible, containing many drops of wisdom, such as (in a passage to "be exceedingly cautious in giving certificates of insanity . . .)
