Colossus is the first collection of Donald Wandrei's fiction published in more than twenty years and the most estensive survey of his science fiction ever assembled. Written primarily for the pulps during the Thirties, this collection contains such well known stories such as "The Red Brain," "Colossus," and "The Crystal Bullet," along with eighteen other tales. Donald Wandrei's science fiction is distinguished by a deft, poetic grasp of the language and a dark, cosmic outlook which has rarely been equaled. An extensive introduction has been provided by Richard L. Tieney on the author and his work. Wandrei was co-founder along with August Derleth of Arkham House, one of the most respected publishing houses specializing in horror and fantasy. This copy is one of a thousand printed of the 1st edition. Very good to fine condition, very minor smudging and scratching on the DJ, no other defects apparent. DJ very good to fine, still wearing the original mylar jacket, unclipped.
