First edition in 2 volumes: Erster Band, Die Beobachtungsfehler, ihre rechnerische Ausglichung und Untersuchung; Zweiter Band, Einheiten und Dimensionen, Messungen fur Langen, Massen, Voumina und Dichtigkeiten. Vellum spines, with leather labels in red… and black. Marbled boards. Some foxing at front and rear of volumes. Minor dampstain at rear inside hinge of volume 2. Weinstein was among the first physicists to criticize and reject Einstein's theory of relativity, warning that "physics and mathematics would have to be revised". While largely tedious and unfounded, the force of his criticism led to a more accessible explanation by Einstein of his ideas. Weinstein was attracted to what he called a psychical or spiritual monism, comparable to the pantheism of Spinoza. He was the translator of Maxwell's Treatise on Electricity and Magnetism into German. Not available for priority/expedited shipping. Due to the size/weight of this book extra charges may apply for international shipping.
