Octavo/8vo, measures around 7 5/8" by 5 3/8" by 1". No dust jacket. Very dark blue cloth binding, gilt lettering and emblem lettering to front board and gilt lettering to spine. Some marking and scuffing to binding with discoloured patch on front board. Signs of wear, rubbing at edges and on hinges. A little slackness to binding, some strain in centre of textblock but book otherwise contents firm. Upper page edges gilt, fore-edges cut and trimmed with some rough edges, also browned, scuffed and a bit marked. Some marking to endpapers, previous owner name to half-title page. The odd mark to page surfaces but generally clean, no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information. 254 pp.

For her daughters they are, so soon and as long as they live in self-knowledge and in self-denial, in humility and in meekness, and especially in unceasing prayer for themselves and for others. And I am not without some assurance that in this present lecture I am both hearing and obeying one of those same locutions that Teresa heard so frequently, and obeyed with such instancy and fidelity and fruitfulness.
