He has also earned his living in aviation, as a war correspondent and as a publisher's reader and traveller. He contributed to Monde under the editorship of Henri Barbusse. His poems appeared under the imprint of Roger Lacouriere in Paris in 1929. Encouraged by Eden & Cedar Paul, David Garnett, Somerset Maugham, Frederick Philip Grove and Upton Sinclair he wrote a controversial novel which luckily he lost in Russia. He had no copy. He now confines himself to his proper medium, adventure fiction which appears in British and American magazines.
