But the sewn binding is strong & straight, pages creamy white with the random soiled spot or tear/chip; mild overall tanning. All six volumes in fine to near fine condition. Only fault is the lower fore-edge corners of 10 pages (leaves) of vol 1 are torn away. This does not affect the text on those pages. Pages are tight and clean with no marks. no scribbles, no crayon. No name of previous owner. No musty odor. no water damage. No soiling. No sun fading. A nice set of this classic work for children.
