Später wurde Winternitz der erste Direktor des Marx-Engels-Lenin-Instituts in Ost-Berlin. - Gutes Exemplar mit dem Berichtigungszettel.

Ab 1927 war er Kandidat des Zentralkomitees der KPD und ab 1929 Mitglied. 1933 ging er ins Exil in die Tschechoslowakei und anschließend nach England.
