Find out with data that go way beyond what standardized test scores tell you. The Feedback Loop describes a process by which you design formative assessments of what you do and collect a variety of forms of data. Then, the book shows you ways to actually use the information to improve your teaching.Drawing on research-based findings and the experiences of both new and veteran classroom teachers, the guide offers practical ideas for middle and high school teachers, regardless of discipline. The first chapters introduce the Feedback Loop framework; highlight the four elements of goals, tools, data, and inferences; and explore how to close the loop by connecting inferences and goals through feedback. Later chapters show how to use the full loop to inform your instruction. The book supports the Next Generation Science Standards and includes classroom vignettes that ground the ideas in real-life situations. Meant to illuminate without overwhelming you, The Feedback Loop's data-driven approach will support student learning and help strengthen your teaching practice in your very next lesson or unit.

Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Zustand: Very good to fine condition. First edition. Quarto (11-3/4" x 10-1/4"). 143, (1)pp. Bibliographical notes including exhibition history. Color photo illustrated dust jacket, spine lettered in black & faded red, over tan cloth with black lettering on spine. Illustrated with sixty full page color photographs, most of them portraits. Brown endpapers. Outer leaves a bit foxed. Dust jacket with old sun faded shadows. "Marie Cosindas was introduced to photography rather casually. Her studio happened to be in the same building as one of Boston's first photography galleries, the Carl Siembab. She gradually became part of a circle of photographers that included Walter Chapell, Paul Caponigro, Nathan Lyons, and Minor White, and then took up photography herself. In 1961 she went to California to study with Ansel Adams in his studio workshop. But neither Adams nor any of the photographers who were ranked as fine artists in the 1960s worked in color. Marie Cosindas simply travels on into her fantasy of color, as if by astral projection. Sometimes I think the only supreme fantasists can have peace in this world. In any case they have their way. I have met Marie Cosindas, and I can testify to that. (Tom Wolfe).

[0-415-05218-1] 1991. (Trade paperback) Very good. 340pp. Notes, illustrations, photographs, bibliography, index. Several pages are dog-eared, there is highlighting on page XIV, and an ink mark on p. 209. "In the past, we have tended to see stars as cogs in a mass entertainment industry selling desires and ideologies. But since the 1970s, new approaches have explored the active role of the star in producing meanings, pleasures and identities for a diversity of audiences. Drawn from film history, sociology, textual analysis, audience research, psychoanalysis and cultural politics, the[se] essays raise important questions for the politics of representation, the impact of stars on society and the cultural limitations and possibilities of stars". Includes Karen Alexander, Andrew Britton, Richard Decordova, Richard Dyer, Charles Eckert, Jane Marie Gaines, Behroze Gandhy, Christine Gledhill, Miriam Hansen, Thomas Harris, Charlotte Cornelia Herzog, Barry King, David Lusted, Kobena Mercer, Michel Mourlet, Tessa Perkins, Jackie Stacey, Janet Staiger, Rosie Thomas, John O.
