He completed basic training at the Armor Training Center, Fort Knox, KY, and was awarded the MOS of 19K (M1A1 Armor Crewman). He served with the 1st and 25th Infantry Divisions, and the 1st Cavalry Division, and completed two combat tours to Iraq.
