Operational techniques involve careful timing of the application with proper weather conditions. Spraying is postponed when a significant wind is blowing toward sensitive areas. Mechanical techniques involve using different types of drift control nozzles, shields. Shield is a mechanical structure which is fitted over nozzle or boom that physically interrupts the wind flow which causes drift. It can be of different sizes and shapes.
