Lyons is the primary contributor to, and Editor of, the book Streamlining Digital Signal Processing: A Tricks of the Trade Guidebook. He is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Signal Processing magazine, where he created and edits the "DSP Tips & Tricks" column; and a member of Eta Kappa Nu, the electrical engineering honor society. He received the 2007 IEEE Signal Processing Magazine Best Column Award and the IEEE Signal Processing Society's 2012 Education Award. Where possible, all books come with dust jacket in a clear protective plastic sleeve, sealed in a ziplock bag, wrapped in bubble wrap, shipped in a box.
