This book presents a collection of letters written between 1537â"1556 by members of the newly formed Society of Jesusâ"also known as the Jesuitsâ"to their leaders, St. Ignatius of Loyola and Father Polancus. These letters, written in the early days of the Jesuit order, offer a rare glimpse into the challenges and triumphs faced by the fledgling religious community. While they provide a rich source of information for those interested in the history of Catholicism, they also shed light on the broader religious and intellectual climate of their time. The letters touch upon everything from the Jesuits' educational mission to their efforts to combat Protestantism, offering an insight into the dynamics of the Reformation era. By bringing together these letters and presenting them in an accessible way, this book contributes to our understanding of the development of the Jesuit order and the religious landscape of the 16th century.
