With this framework, the author illustrates the area that Taconic sediments covered, the locations in which it can still be found, and the different compositions of the material found in its strata. Through detailed investigation, the author aims to challenge previous knowledge of the oldest sediments and their relationship to metamorphic rocks such as granite and gneiss. The book is a significant contribution to the study of geology, particularly in the United States. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
