"Partisans" is at the late end of his 29 bestsellers but shows MacLean's skills did not fade in the years before his death in 1987. It is the story of a commando unit dropped into the Balkans during WWII to deliver a mysterious message to the Yugoslavian Royalists waging a guerrilla war against the Nazis. Boards and text are clean and unmarked, tight and square, not remaindered. The dustjacket shows only a tiny tear at the top of the back panel near the spine and minor wear at the spine ends. No significant tears, chipping or creasing, not price-clipped. A collectable copy.
