Trade Paperback. Zustand: Fine. Second Edition. 267 Pages. A tight book with very light wear to covers. No other defects noted and interior text pages are flawless. This book is a true crime story. It is a study of the David Parker Ray case as it unfolded, from crime-scene discovery and investigations through trials, to its unsatisfactory end because of the missing persons files left open, probably forever. This second edition had new case information obtained by author after publication of the first edition. Ray may no longer be practicing serial criminal sadism, but he had disciples, and he wasn't the only predator out there. The world has many more. About this true crime book Don Bullis, retired DPS criminal intelligence operational supervisor, book reviewer, columnist and published author said this is the definitive book on the Ray case, well-researched and written, easy to read. In spite of the subject, it is not a sensationalized account. A couple of earlier books on this case were published, but they did not receive wide attention or circulation, mostly because they were hurry-up efforts, incomplete and rife with errors. The narrative begins with a bloody and naked victim running down an Elephant Butte road. It continues through arrest and trials and closes with the death of Ray in his prison cell on the day he was to begin serving his 224-year sentence. Many think the remains of Ray's victims are ensconced in the silt at the bottom of Elephant Butte Lake or buried in the nearby New Mexico desert. This second edition contains new information about David Parker Ray and this case. This case remains one of New Mexico's enduring mysteries.
