In den WarenkorbHardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Near Fine. 1st Edition. A fine, well preserved copy of the book that won the first Booker Prize in 1969. The bright orange cloth-bound boards look perfect: no scratches, dents or bumps; all edges straight, all corners sharp; no marks apart from the faint shadow of a stain on the back board. The black title lettering on the spine remains clear and strong. The text block is square and tightly bound; there is some light spotting on the top edge but none on the fore or bottom edges. Internally the pages are clean and unmarked apart from a note written in pencil at the top of the ffep to the effect that the book is a Booker Prizewinner. The dust jacket is unmarked and its colours are bright and unfaded. See five photos of this book and please ask for more if that would help.

In den WarenkorbHardback. Zustand: Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very good. 1st UK, 1st impression. Notable as the first winner of the then Booker Prize in 1969 and often regarded as rather baffling, mainly because of the dream-like and/or drunken state of the most unreliable narrator. This very clean example is fine with no marks, inscriptions or foxing. It has been well looked-after. The unclipped jacket is very good, has some minor wear to the spine extremities and some handling wear to the rear panel.

In den WarenkorbCloth Bound. Zustand: Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Fine. 1st Edition. First edition, first impression. The winner of the first Booker Prize. Original orange cloth, lettered black on spine. 8vo. 285pp. Fine in fine dust-wrapper. The d/w has one very slight crease, a little light shelf wear at top edge and a trace of dust marking to rear panel but is in very bright, unfaded, crisp condition. It is not price clipped and displays the original price of 30s £1.50 on inner front flap. Although bearing no ownership markings of any kind, this copy was from the personal library of Peter du Sautoy, the chairman of Faber & Faber. This intelligent thriller, set against the backdrop of war-torn Port Said in 1956 was the inaugural winner of the Booker Prize in 1969. It is scarce and arguably the rarest of all the Booker winners.
