Hardcover. Zustand: Good. No Jacket. Fredric Wood Jones was an anthropologist with some controversial views on evolution of the hominid. This is one of his earliest works where he expounds upon the ideas of how certain human traits evolved. Certainly a fascinating subject and an interesting read. Inside the front is the bookplate of J.P. Kleiweg de Zwaan, a Dutch anthropologist from the early part of the twentieth century. In very good condition, this has the original gilt cover design as well as in-text illustrations of Jones' ideas. The corners are bent and there is some edge wear along with a ding at the top of the back board near the edge. Please do not hesitate to ask for more pictures; will be glad to oblige. Very Good Condition: 8vo: green boards with gilt dsigns: front has gilt primate climbing while spine has gilt lettering of title and author: bent corners, softening at head and tail, ding at top back near edge: bookplate on free endpaper: occasional foxing and discoloration due to age: illustrations throughout including the famous lemur illustration; "Arboreal Man" by F(rederic) Wood Jones: London: Edward Arnold: 1916.
