Souza. ***Near fine in colour printed card covers. The covers are clean and unmarked, with no creases or tears. No reading creases to the spine. Covers bright. No reading lean. Spine tight. Page block edges clean. Internally also near fine with no inscriptions. Just one tiny crease to the top corner of p.141/2 - otherwise no creases or tears. No foxing - pages clean. Paper stock slightly tanned as usual. ***202 pages plus four pages of publisher's adverts at the back of the book. 178 mm x110 mm. ***First impression of the first UK paperback edition of this futurist novel by the Polish poet and novelist Jerzy Peterkiewicz. The hardcover edition published by Macmillan in 1966 had a very small print run, and this softcover edition, published in 1968, is also quite scarce, as sales were poor and many copies were apparently pulped. A nice collectable copy of this classic work of the 1960s - a collaboration between writer and artist. (N.B. The wrapper has a full colour front panel designed by Souza. This book had a very small hardcover printing.
