Erstausgabe
Two vols. 1st -- 4to. [8 pp (unpaginated).], with colour and black & white photo lithograph illustrations, text illustrations throughout, self-printed colour-illustrated softcovers, cover art of phonograph arm & 45 record mechanism (minor edgewear, slight crease front cover), still NF copy, minor former ownership stamp upper left corner; 4to. 2nd -- 84, 83, [1], 93, [1], 33, [1], 23, [1] pp. With 100's of photo illustrations, text illustrations, wiring diagrams & schematics, some large folding. Flexible blue soft-cover slide-lock post-binder, red lettering front cover & spine (minor edgewear, creasing), still VG copy w/ last section still unopened and paper wrapper seal intact. First edition of these remarkably scarce brochure and service manual volumes for the very popular Wurlitzer 2100 and 2104 Jukebox models, which marked the shift of Wurlitzer to entirely playing 45 records, and competed direction with Seeburg with a real eye-catching rack able to play 200 selections from 100 records, and 104 selections from 52 records respectively. Arguably one of the most desirable of the Silver Age jukeboxes, this Wurlitzer model featured a design evoking a 1950's auto windshield, lots of chrome, and sleek styling. This model also proved to be a hit with teenagers and young people flocking plugging quarters into the jukebox, with Wurlitzer producing nearly 15,000 of the two in 1957. This catalogue also advertises the Model 5210 wall box unit with a 2 nickel feature for making selections remotely, and the Model 5207 for making 104 selections. The service manual also includes sections on the Wurlitzer 1900 & 2000 "Centennial" models produced from 1955-1956 (52 & 100 records), and encompasses not only specifications and description with wiring diagrams, but also how to properly install the unit, make adjustments, maintain the Jukebox properly, and exploded view parts catalogue. No copies located in Worldcat of either piece; See: Kerry Segrave, Jukeboxes: An American Social History; Wurlitzer, Jukebox History (2020).
