Slip case decorated with illustration of Adams on front and rear; some smudges front cover. The Introduction notes that Adams "aspired to fame as a poet". Among his historical documents ."is a vast literary miscellany that includes verse composition books beginning in 1784, when he was sixteen or seventeen, and extending until his death in 1848, when he was approaching eighty-one".
