This study set out to identify the factors responsible for the hiking prices and suggest policy interventions. The findings of the study indicate that the determinants of inflation differ between sectors (food and non-food) and time horizons (short run and long run). The most important forces behind food inflation in the long run are real income, money supply, inflation expectation and international food price. The long run determinants of non-food inflation, on the other hand, are money supply, interest rate and inflation expectations. In the short run model, wages, international prices, exchange rates and food supply are found to be prime sources of inflation. A correctly conducted modal analysis can accurately predict the values of natural frequency. The most commonly used tool for such purpose is software based on Finite Element Method. Compared to experimental tests it is less costly, more time efficient and can incorporate phenomena which are not possible to include in experimental measurements. To perform such analysis correctly one must be aware of several significant parameters that should not be omitted in the model definition. This work focuses on main influencing factors such as working temperature, rotational speed, blade root stiffness and examines their effects. In addition it studies the importance of boundary conditions in the FEM model and verifies possible geometrical simplifications that could optimize the solution process. This analysis should be useful to engineers working on turbine blade vibration. We have changed the target specificity of EcoDam from GATC to GATT by directed evolution, combining different random mutagenesis methods with restriction protection at GATT sites for selection and screening. After four generations of mutagenesis and selection, we obtained enzyme variants with new specificity for GATT. We conclude that the new methyltransferases are fully functional in vivo and in vitro. The EcoDam and T4Dam DNA-(adenine N6)- methyltransferases both methylate the adenine residue in GATC sites. They are highly related in amino acid sequence and structure but deviate in their contact to the first base pair of the target sequence. We have transplanted the T4Dam DNA recognition module into EcoDam and show that the EcoDam K9A/Y138R double mutant is highly active and specific. Neuware -The aims of the project were to analyze patient-related barriers to cancer pain management and to describe clinical rationale for the choice of administration form with fentanyl. To answer the research questions related to the first aim, a questionnaire survey among cancer patients from the Danish pain centres and pain clinics was conducted. Survey results showed that a psycho-emotional status of patients significantly explained pain intensity, while patients'' attitudes towards the importance of pain management with opioids significantly explained pain relief. Thus, interventions in cancer patients'' emotional distress and concerns could result in better pain management outcomes. To answer research questions related to the second aim, two Delphi surveys were conducted, among Danish pain specialists and pain nurses, respectively. Dissolved ozone increases the redox-potential of solutions to about +1200 mV vs. SCE and the corrosion potential of stainless steel to the transpassive region. The corrosion rate of stainless steels increases as the amount of alloying elements increases. The corrosion of stainless steels is mainly general but also peeling of oxide layers and pitting was also observed. As the pH of the solution is decreased, the corrosion rate of higher alloyed steels increases at higher pH than lower alloyed steels. Dissolved ozone increases the thickness of the oxide layers greatly up to 260 nm and greatly changes the composition of the layer. Chromium concentration is negligible in the oxide layers. Molybdenum concentrates in the outer layer, even more so with lower alloyed steels. Iron and alloying elements have oxidised to their highest valencies. Overexploitation of fish stocks together with an increase in demand for fish for human consumption has decreased the resources of natural baits at cost effective prices. This has lead to attempts in the development of artificial or reconstituted baits. In this study, baits were prepared using differing proportions of industry surplus Greenshell¿ Mussel and gurnard which are know to be part of the snapper diet. These species also contain large amounts of glycine and alanine, which are known to stimulate feeding behavior in snapper. Results of test bait were compared to hooks baited with control squid bait, showing that control bait was 83.93% more effective compared to the test bait. Although the catches on the test bait were low, the selectivity for snapper was 29.25 % higher. Reasons for the reduced total catch may be because the tests bait texture and taste, compared to natural foods of snapper. To find new means to fight this parasite, it is important to learn more about its biology. The yeast-two-hybrid system was used to map the complete interaction network between proteins of P. falciparum. In this protein network of interaction, PDCP is closely related to MSP-1, a protein involved in erythrocyte invasion. PDCP is a CCCH-type zinc finger protein, a family of proteins that are involved in protein-protein interaction, nucleic acid binding and binding in small ligands. It was shown that its expression was dependant on the density of the parasites. In this study we used the SILAC technology to confirm these previous results. Neuware -The transmission and guiding of slow highly charged ions through various insulating nanocapillaries of varying aspect ratios and track densities has attracted considerable attention in recent years. Ions lose negligible energy during the course of guiding and do not appreciably change charge state. In this book transmission and guiding of fast electrons (500 and 1000 eV) through an insulating polyethylene terephthalate nanocapillary (PET) foil has been presented and compared with results for slow ions. Electron guiding is found to decrease faster with both energy and foil tilt angle than for ions. The spectra of transmitted electrons through the foil exhibit significant energy losses which increase with energy and tilt angle. The energy losses suggest that electrons undergo multiple elastic and inelastic scattering within the capillaries before being transmitted or lost inside the foil, a phenomenon not observed for slow ion guiding. Despite the considerable energy losses, it has been found that the inelastically as well as the elastically scattered electrons are guided through the capillaries.
