The overall objective of this research was to identify gaps in the existing system of collection as well as dissemination of market information. Study respondents included farmers, extension staff and radio station managers. The findings indicated that despite the presence of extension staff, radios and a community information centre in Budaka District, farmers did not effectively access agro-marketing information. There were challenges in availing timely and up-to-date market information to farmers to enable them sell their agro-produce at competitive prices. Lack of an effective market information collection system, inadequate market information management skills, limited financing of radio programs all contributed negatively to an effective and efficient agro-marketing system in the District. Future research is needed to improve agro-marketing information in order to improve agribusiness in the district. The potential of the plant biomass for production of biofuels and biochemicals was analyzed in order to choose the most efficient way for its utilization. It was established that the specific combustion heat of the investigated solid plant materials was from 11 to 25 MJ/kg. The calorific value of the liquid biofuels ¿ bioalcohol and biodiesel fuel, was higher than the calorific value of the solid biomass samples. Lignin, lipids and waxes contribute to the energetic potential of the biomass, while the mineral components and moisture reduce this potential. It was established, the most efficient way for generation of the renewable energy is the direct combustion of the plant biomass as a solid fuel, while the burning of such amount of liquid biofuel, which can be obtained from plant material, gives a much smaller energetic effect. The increased cost of the liquid biofuels also hampers their commercialization as energy sources. The complexes of these ligands with metal chlorid salts have been formed. Finally, the UV-VIS, IR, AAS and 1H NMR spectroscopic properties of these compounds were investigated and clarified by the help of the results of elemental analyses and the spectroscopic methods. The two texts are the Zhufanzhi or ¿Description of Barbarous Peoples' compiled by the Song official Zhau Rugua in 1225 C.E, and the Yingyai shenglan jiao or ¿The Overall Survey of the Ocean¿s Shores¿ compiled from 1425-32 C.E. by Ma Huan who participated in the great naval expeditions led by Zheng He in the Ming period. The book highlights that the image of India carried in Chinese literature from the 13th to 15th centuries began to change from that of the land of Buddhism to a place of commercial significance for the Chinese.
