In this context, this study attempts to find out the implications of land tenure concerning agricultural households on food sufficiency through a field study in the sampled area. The major findings are that while secured land tenure very importantly affects the livelihood of land-dependent people, this secured tenure alone is not sufficient for them to attain food sufficiency if that land is unproductive. Family size, land size, type of land and type of tenure governs land tenure system in such a way that these were found to have a tremendous impact in household food sufficiency. A more in-depth research in these areas is needed that would contribute to better understanding of the nexus between secured tenure and the household food security. 108 pp. Englisch.

This book explores whether the… current practice of generating such consent guarantees IP's control over development, particularly in relation to mining, that such procedures were designed to ensure.Two case studies involving Mamanwa and Manobo tribes suggest that the FPIC processes managed by NCIP have not led to an informed choice on the part of the IPs. Long-term impacts and benefits were hardly discussed by mining companies. Promise of financial benefits at the outset of the consultations short circuited the required FPIC process. Cultural erosion and the absence of long- term development plans have worked against the goals of the FPIC process.Traditional decision-making procedures employed by IPs are inadequate to generate the kind of conversation required to ensure Free, Prior and Informed Consent.The author recommends the use of third neutral party to facilitate the FPIC process to ensure a fair, equitable, and legitimate outcome for all stakeholders. 120 pp. Englisch.

I have used a…sample of nine leading banks operating in the Italian market to understand the most important characteristics and the mechanisms of integration concerning the internal control system. According to the empirical evidences, various mechanisms and elements of the internal control system were found to contain weaknesses. In particular, the first-level of control appears scarcely structured and lacks a clear definition of roles and responsibilities. Moreover, the mechanisms of organizational and operating integration were developed in only a few cases. Therefore, the Italian banks must promptly focus their attention on strengthening these two areas through tailored actions to ensure the safe and sound management of corporate risks. This paper also suggests to banking industry professionals a framework and some recommendations for the implementation of an effective and integrated internal control system in banks. 116 pp. Englisch.

It examines the effectiveness of a training program offered to 108 trainees of a leading private sector bank .The data was extracted from the employees through a questionnaire based on Kirkpatrick s model of training evaluation. A chi-square test revealed that the demographic variables are independent of the efficacy gap. A paired sample t- test was conducted and it has been concluded that the trainees did not find the program effective. The factor analysis indicates that the grouping of the variables into factors fairly matches with the Kirkpatrick s model of training evaluation with certain exceptions. Finally, a multiple regression analysis was conducted which revealed that the factors extracted in factor analysis are significant in explaining training effectiveness. 108 pp. Englisch.
