Results from these models were comparable with available data, suggesting that the magnitude of the decarboxylation rate enhancement depends on a combination of the charge distance and hydrogen bonding effects. We found that the dipole moment of the proton donor may also play a significant role, implying that the key to the rest of the catalysis lie within the specific interactions of the substrate and the surrounding residues. 68 pp. Englisch.

Organic Photovoltaic (OPV) solar cells are based on molecular or polymeric organic compounds as active parts of solar cells which exhibit power conversion efficiencies of only up to 8.3%. The physical processes that lead to photo-current generation in OPV cells include the donor-acceptor hetero-junction for efficient dissociation and transport of excitons. A fundamental difference between organic solar cells and conventional inorganic solar cells is that light absorption results in the formation of excitons in molecular materials, rather than in free electron-hole pairs (semiconductor). Due to its electrical neutrality and the strong binding energy between the hole and the electron, organic cell can be regarded as a mobile excited state. 80 pp. Englisch.

In chapter 5, we haveinvestigated theeffect of gravity in the DIS (i.e. the process $e^+ +p rightarrow e^+ X$) and compare our result withthat at HERA to constrain the parameters of the RSmodel. In chapter 6 and chapter 7, we haveinvestigated several phenomenologicalconsequences of the radion (which appears naturallyin the RS model in order to stabilize thesize of the fifth spatial dimension). He proved that the boundary data given by an arbitrary potential in a p…lane domain determines that potential uniquely. After a brief historical review on related inverse problems the author starts to explain Bukhgeim's proof. The big picture is elegant. Given two potentials which give the same boundary data there is a weighted orthogonality relation for the solutions of the two Schrödinger equations. These algorithms are generally complex and make the job of design verification difficult. Hence one can think of designing simpler algorithms, those would reduce the difficulty during design verification without losing much on the system performance. One such approach can be to have the competing agents specify their valuations for the resources. A central allocator listens to the valuations and takes allocation decisions accordingly. As the allocation is done solely depending on the valuations given by the agents, one needs to ensure truthfulness of the agents. In such cases we can view the resource allocation problem as a mechanism design problem. We investigate how the problem of page allocation in DSM multiprocessors can be solved using multi-parameter auctions. We applied these techniques in a mobile phone testing environment where tests are manually executed and designed based on requirements.We propose a tool that mechanizes the prioritization process helping testers to register information, execute the prioritization techniques and choose from sequences yielded as results. Empirical studies were performed, comparing the permutation approach to the existing prioritization technique where the test cases are prioritized manually based on a heuristic that uses a tree structure and, knowledge and intuition from the testers. Results show gains of approximately 25-30% in configuration time.
