Scheduled for publication in 1982 by Pocket Books, the series of four books was canceled due to poor sales of the first two. Four or five sets of loose galleys of the 1982 Pocket Books edition of volume three were produced and the galleys are the only form of the original edition. Several sets survive, one sold to the University of Texas by your humble cataloguer in March 1983. Sales projections aside, this is an excellent selection of stories, most are now genre classics. A fine copy in fine dust jacket. (#164729).

The front cover seems to have been slightly misaligned when bound, and the book has a mild skew to the binding, light bumps to the spine ends, and a few small spots and smudges to the edges of the text block. Otherwise, this is a solid, tight Very Good copy in a Very Good+ dust jacket, which has mild bumps to the spine ends and corners, faint rubbing to the covers, and a hint of wear to the edges. The jacket is wrapped in Mylar.
