Half Calf. Zustand: Very Good. 2 Volumes, bound in half calf with marbled boards, illustrated with 24 engraved plates (some folding), being 11 in the first vol and 13 in the second. Spines with gilt lettering and lining. Some wear to corners and head and foot of spine, slight cracking between boards and spine but an excellent tight set in very clean condition, originally bound by Bates of Hexham.

Plates lightly browned with marginal foxing. final leaf torn without loss affecting only the binders instructions, good plus in contemporary calf with gilt decoration, black morocco gilt label to spine. both boards rubbed and worn, hinges cracked, upper board attached by only 1 cord, lower board by 3 cords. top and tail of spine missing, gilt dulled, fair.
