Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. First Edition. Bendigo, 38th Battalion History Committee (printed by the 'Bendigo Advertiser' Pty Ltd and the Cambridge Press), 1920. Octavo, [viii] (first leaf blank), 110 pages with the battalion colour patch printed on an early page plus a double-portrait frontispiece and 17 numbered plates (curiously, there is no plate number 10 listed or present, but as issued). Two-colour pictorial wrappers lightly marked and foxed, with the spine discoloured and a little rubbed; trifling signs of handling; an excellent copy of an item rare in any condition. The book is not identified as such, but it comes from the personal collection of Lieutenant-Colonel Alexander Thomas Paterson (1886-1950), Commanding Officer of the 39th Battalion AIF, and the author of that battalion's history.
