1st English Edition. 216pp. Octavo. Maroon cloth with gilt lettering on spine and front cover. Boards lightly rubbed with light bumping to corners. Light discolouration to endpapers. Light soiling to top outer egde of text block. The remaining outer edges are untrimmed. Clean, tight text block. In dust jacket (beige with brown lettering and illustration). Jacket is lightly soiled and rubbed with quite a bit of chipping along top and bottom. A lovely copy. very good Roberts A53. Lawrence had started to think of collecting his essays and articles toward the end of 1929. Most of the entries are from 1928-29 when Lawrence started to favour this form of writing as he got paid for better.
