A scholarly account of the subject, well illustrated with b/w photographs (mostly brain cross-sections) and charts, by a well-known Californian neurologist at Los Angelos County General Hospital. The free endpaper has a warm inscription by the neurologist's wife, to a friend, dated 1971, along with a bookmark which notes other medical texts by Dr. Courville.
