Big, tall, quarto hardcover format copy, bound simply in brown cloth, sharp and distinct gilt lettering to spine, and laid in (of course!) is a loose bookplate, quite fine. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, protected by a plastic coat, "price-clipped" but price still evident. Binding is tight and square, pages and edges are clean, with clean brown, simple endpapers. Well over 250 illustrations depicting the broad range of bookplate design, from the earliest armorials seen in the Middle Age's to more contemporary styles. Double-column texts, duotone illustrations, complete with notes and bibliography.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
