Overall quite heavy foxing throughout the volume. Plates about good. Foxing predominantly in the margins of the plate leaves, but most plates have some degree of foxing within the engraved area also. Heavy rubbing to leather spine. Cloth peeling from front board near head of front joint. Moderate loss of cloth at edges of corners of boards. ; Incomplete. A mixed volume made up of parts of several works. Page dimensions: 280 x 214mm. Green leather spine and cloth boards. The book begins with "Modern Athens", vi, 74 (of ?) pages + 40 (of ?) plates of Edinburgh + extra engraved title page. This is followed by text pages (13)-20 on Kent and 4 plates of Kent, followed by an engraved title page "Ireland Illustrated in a Series of Views of Cities, Towns, Public Buildings, Streets, Docks, Churches, Antiquities, Abbeys, Towers, Castles, Seats of the Nobility, &c. &c." Fisher, Son & Co. London 1829, with 16 text pages and 10 plates of Ireland. Finally followed by a third title page for "Paris and its Environs, displayed in a series of picturesque views, from original drawings taken expressly for this work, comprising views on the Seine, Churches, Palaces, [. . .] The drawings under the direction of A. Pugin Esq. the engravings under the superintendence of Mr C. Heath." London: Robert Jennings / Paris: Treuttel & Wurts, no date (c1830]. 12 text pages (text in French with English translation on facing page) + 6 plates of Paris. Spine title: "Edinburgh Illustrated". Each plate leaf has two illustrations on it. Guard leaves present to all plates. NB: The "Athens" of the title refers to Edinburgh, and not to Athens, Greece.; 4to.
