Gilt-decorated cloth, top edge gilt, others uncut; cloth lightly flecked and scored, and lightly sunned on the spine, with a tiny abrasion on the leading edge of the front board; endpapers offset; leading edge and endpapers a little foxed, with minimal light scattered foxing elsewhere; overall an excellent copy. Provenance: Fergus Jago Smith (1843-1924), pastoralist, banker, politician and book collector, with his contemporary signature (17 December 1915) on the title page and pastedown (where his address, 'Hawthorne, Bathurst', is also written).
