Inc'); all four catalogues bound with the front wrappers, the first two also with rear wrappers; covers lightly worn; signs of use internally (including some tape stains to an early opening); overall in very good condition. These catalogues would have been Father Boyle's working copies before his appointment as Prefect of the Vatican Library, and contain extensive annotations in his hand. (2) KRISTELLER, Paul Oskar: 'Latin Manuscript Books before 1600. A bibliography of the printed catalogues of extant collections' (Cosmopolitan Science & Art Service Co., 1948; an offprint from 'Traditio', Volume VI; 227-317 pages plus a loosely-inserted errata slip). (3) KRISTELLER, Paul Oskar: 'Latin Manuscript Books before 1600. Part II. A tentative list of unpublished inventories of imperfectly catalogued extant collections' (Fordham University Press, 1953; an offprint from 'Traditio', Volume IX; 395-418 pages). (4) BLOOMFIELD, Morton W.: 'A preliminary list of incipits of Latin works on the virtues and vices. Mainly of the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth centuries' (Fordham University Press, 1955; an offprint from 'Traditio', Volume XI; 259-379 pages, inscribed by Bloomfield 'To Father Boyle, With the Compliments of the Author'). The first three catalogues have Boyle's ownership signature on the front wrapper. The first two catalogues are the most heavily annotated; the final blank of the first contains a lengthy checklist of mediaeval manuscripts consulted at the British Museum in March 1952.
