A Hand Coloured copper engraved print by Andrew Best Leloir of Napoleon. Titled "L'Empereur". Printed on laid hand-made paper, colouring clean but quite pale, the strike isn't all that good, a light area of age toning at bottom edge below the image. BUT! a genuine 1800-1815 print and shows the 1st Consul in a less well known pose on his favourite horse the grey Marengo. Measures. Approx 27.5 x 19 cm [11 x 7.5 inches]. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
