The title page notes Prime Minister John Curtin's 1942 declaration, made on the eve of the first of the many raids on Darwin: "What the Battle for Britain required, so the Battle for Australia demands." An especially useful reference for collectors and researchers of Australian WWII history, Darwin, the Pacific War, Japanese air operations against Australia, and Northern Territory military history. Author inscription/initials: The front blank leaf bears handwritten initials that appear to read "JA" with "7/92" beneath.
