Beginning with the doctrine of the infallibility of the Pope, the author questions the historical validity of this belief, ultimately asserting that the inability to err is a divine attribute not held by men. The author also claims that rather than giving clarity, tradition has only served to increase the need for a human authority to interpret scripture, ultimately leading to the primacy of the Pope.
