Barnard, of the Australian National University, wrote extensively on bronze casting technology and on the forgery of archaic bronze inscriptions; the checklist here catalogues items 58 to 64 as forgeries and 65 to 67 as rubbings. Lenders include the National Gallery of Victoria, Auckland Institute and Museum, Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences Sydney, Art Gallery of New South Wales, and the Lyttelton Taylor Collection at the Australian National University.
