Batholomew, F.R.G.S. reduced by permission from the Ordnance Survey. Hardback, 1909, third edition, published by Ward, Lock and Co., London. Red cloth boards and spine, pictorial front board and spine. Some fading to spine, though title and pattern still just about visible. but patterning and lettering still quite clear. Boards are quite scuffed and a little marked and discoloured but have retained much of their colour. Signs of rubbing and shelf-wear. Corners bumped and a little torn. Binding reasonably firm though strained in several places. Hinges intact. Page edges browned. Stamp to front pastedown and pencil writing and bookseller embossed stamp to FFEP but otherwise page surfaces are reasonably clean, some marks here and there, especially towards edges, but no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information.…

Large double page map 54.2 x 43 cms (map), original fold, some edge toning and to the fold, but in very good condition. Large map prepared as plate 65 for ?The Times Survey Atlas of the World? in 1922 and was prepared at the Edinburgh Geographical Institute under the direction of J G Bartholomew. The map shows Japan's territory inclusive of Korea, southern Sakhalin, and Taiwan. …
