General Albert Coady Wedemeyer (1897-1989) was a United States Army officer who served as deputy chief of staff for the U.S. Army in the European Theater under General Eisenhower. In 1944 he was appointed commander of U.S. forces in China, replacing General Joseph Stilwell, and became chief of staff to Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, overseeing operations against Japan and managing the China-Burma-India theater. He retired from the Army in 1951 as a four-star general. Signed.
