Ray Silver joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a navigator. He was posted to 10 Squadron RAF flying Whitleys. He was shot down near Cologne in May 1942 and was imprisoned in Stalag Luft III. Covers training, early ops, and capture. About half of the book covers his time as a POW and includes an intimate view of Douglas Bader and 'Wings' Day.
