There is good material, too, for the adventurous (but, I hope, careful) traveller who wishes to visit places further north, such as Innamincka on Cooper's Creek, Coongie Lakes (an ornithologist's paradise) and Birdsville. A visit to the Flinders Ranges should not be rushed. For maximum return it is a place to be savoured at leisure. This book will be a valuable aid to the enjoyment of your visit if you read it before you go and take it with you on your travels.
