Zustand: Very Good. November 1938 issue of The Crisis, the official publication of the NAACP. 27 pp, illustrated in black and white. Staple bound in publisher's printed wraps. Very Good with light soiling and wear to wraps, "R. B." written in pencil on the top edge of front cover alongside a small chip, faint vertical crease fold throughout. Uncommon.W.E.B. Du Bois founded The Crisis in 1910. The stated purpose of the landmark publication was to "set forth those facts and arguments which show the danger of race prejudice, particularly as manifested today toward colored people." Roy Wilkins notably took over as editor in 1934 until 1949, transforming the periodical into a major platform for Civil Rights. Wilmeth Sidat-Singh, the first African American student-athlete at Syracuse University, graces the front cover. This issue includes articles by Edna Quinn, Edward E. Redcay and Edna Burke writing on getting jobs in Oklahoma.
