Autobiographical acount by the almost-forgotten pioneer of the LGTBQ movement, Kenneth/Kate Marlowe. Among other career paths, Marlowe worked as a female impersonator at the Club My-O-My in New Orleans in the 1960s, a place where the drag queen performers would mix with the guests and hustle tables; he was a Hollywood hairdresser; he wass was the "queen bee" or "madam" of a notorious gay prostitution ring in Hollywood; a soldier in the U.S. Army; and during the last decade of his life transitioned into a female. A scarce title in the genre. His life story, based on this autobiography, was adapted into an Off-Broadway play, "Make Me Gorgeous!" which open ed in a limited run in 2023.
