"Nobody knows the songs I've etched there are the facts."Written between 1973 and 1984, these are the words of a young, punk-pop songwriter/poet cutting a loud, reckless swath through New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.Collected here for the first time are 92 original compositions by Owen Masterson. Some of them you've heard and others that have never been performed or recorded.Presented without the music, the words standing alone, they reveal a young man asking questions, searching for answers, talking to himself, significant others, and anyone else who might be listening.Owen Masterson was born in Brooklyn, raised on Staten Island, and prowled the streets of Manhattan. Currently residing in Nova Scotia by way of Atlanta, San Francisco and Los Angeles, Owen has been a guitar slinger, singer, songwriter, an actor, model, artist, and troublemaker. Since 2000 he has been a commercial photographer and an award winning filmmaker. Also by Owen Masterson: SOMETIME. Written in a spare, stripped down style. it is a page-turning, road trip through one man's "any way the wind blows" life. Heck Harlanson always wanted to write a book but never knew what it was supposed to be about- till now. Alone- out on the Southern California High Desert- his memory unraveling- he tries to capture his life on paper before it all fades away. On the road from New York to California, Lisbon to Mexico, Heck takes us on a wild, adrenalin fueled adventure. People and places, scrambled up in time, where twisted turns and serendipitous moments collide. Also: How bad can bad writing be, especially when it's a writers early work?
