Includes loosely inserted leaflet, 'The First Parliament of Botany Bay in High Debate', also limited edition no. 47/100, initialled by the author. Original stiff wraps with map of Australia to front cover. Near fine condition. 'These letters are personal accounts of the experiences of the correspondents, whether they arrived in Australia as free emigrants or were sent as convicts. All were experiencing life in a far distant part of the world, about which so little was known, particularly not to the convicts. The letters often provided informative and useful information for those intending to make a new life in the Antipodes, information which was not otherwise readily available' (Author).
