This book was designed and edited by David Ross Brower (1912?2000), who was a prominent environmentalist, mountaineer and the founder of many environmental organizations as well as serving as the first Executive Director of the Sierra Club. Norman Gunther Dyhrenfurth (1918 - 2017) was a German-Swiss-American mountaineer and filmmaker. He was the leader of this successful American Mount Everest Expedition of 1963, which placed six climbers on the summit. Paperbound book features many color photographs & maps to enhance narrative. Paperback cover shows little use, small reading creases in sunburnt spine does not affect legibility of print on spine. Interior is tight, clean and, aside from late 1960's dated inscription inside front of book, unmarked. Copyrights 1968 & 1966. Manufactured in U.S.A. No edition/printing info found, although inscribed 1968/1969 indicates early printing. No ISBN. Sierra/Ballantine catalog # 74656. LCCN: 65-28406. MSR = US $3.95. Bourdillion and Charles Wylie, pasted in two columns onto an old paper sheet, with printed details of members of the 1953 Expedition taken from a magazine pasted in the middle and sub-titled in ink 'Everest-1953', 23.5 x 37.5 cm together with three duplicate autographs on index cards of E. P Hillary, Tenzing (dated 12/9/71) and John Hunt (additionally inscribed 'Everest 1953'). - The two missing autographs from the Expedition members are Charles Evans and Tom Stobart.
